First of all the meaning of Turvos. Turvo is a portuguese word for murky, hazy, cloudy. Why did we chose this name? The conceptual reason is because it represents our relationship and all we’ve been through this last 15 years. The “non-conceptual” reason (a.k.a. the real reason) was Turvos was the first word we found in the Portuguese dictionary that was relatively  short and was still free to buy as a dot com address. All music put out with the Turvos name is made by us in our home-studio/living-room/guest-room. All the art is also made by us but as our alter-egos FalcaoLucas. These are tracks that show our day-to-day life, our feelings and frustrations, everything about who we are as a couple, therefore extremely personal and are filled with all our musical influences, from pop to black-metal and everything in middle. These tracks were never intended to be public as they were made to be heard just by us. That is until one of the members (lets call her “the wife”) gave an ultimatum: either the music is shared on-line or there’s no more money nor free time for the band. And since you’re reading this here you can guess what the other member chose. We’re not professional musicians, nor professional producers and our musical experience only goes as far as church choirs when we were kids and garage punk bands but like most portuguese people we can “pull a MacGyver” every now and then.
